It’s hard to argue against the intrinsic happiness that the fall season brings. With sunny days and crisp, cool weather, it’s the perfect time of year to spend time outside and enjoy some fun activities with family or friends. Here are a few classic, fun fall activities that you can do this October.
Apple Picking – Visit a local orchard and spend an hour or two picking some fresh apples to bake into pie, use to make your own apple cider or even just eat straight off the tree!
Decorating Pumpkins – Carving pumpkins is a classic fall activity, but you can also paint them for a less messy (maybe), just-as-fun time!
Hayrides – Taking a hayride through a pumpkin patch is a fun activity for people of all ages. You can pick your own pumpkin and spend some time in the fresh outdoors.
Going to a Fall Festival – There are tons of fall festivals all over the place. From craft shows, to food festivals and everything in between, fall festivals are a great way to engage with your local community and celebrate the fall season.
Hiking – Fall is by far the best season for a hike. The weather is nice and cool and you’ll be underneath a canopy of beautifully colored fall leaves.
Touring a brewery/winery – A lot of breweries and wineries have fall tour packages that make for a nice day trip or afternoon activity. You might even be able to try a special fall flavor.
Tailgating – For many, fall means football. Host a tailgate or backyard party to spend time with friends or family and watch your team claim victory!
Decorating the house – Get out your fake leaf garland, carve some pumpkins and adorn your door with your favorite “Happy Fall Y’all” sign. It’s time to decorate the house for fall! Start with a base of generic fall décor and add on some Halloween decorations that can be easily switched out with Thanksgiving decorations when the time comes.
