Halloween is right around the corner, which means it’s time to start decorating! If you’re not quite sure how to make your home look fang-tastic, then you’re in luck. We have 5 spook-tacular Halloween decorating themes for the little ghoul in all of us.

1. Traditional

It’s time to break out the orange streamers, black cats, witches’ hats and faux spider webs because you can never go wrong with traditional Halloween décor. Carve some pumpkins and place them on your front porch or sidewalk for the perfect seasonal touch.

2. Halloween Chic

Want to go a little more upscale for Halloween? A color scheme of black, white, gold and maroon can still be festive for the holiday while adding a touch of sophistication. Paint pumpkins, arrange large flower centerpieces and add a touch of mystery by setting out candles wherever possible.

3. Kid-Friendly

Make your home a friendly monster paradise by cutting  giant monster eyes out of cardboard and placing them in bushes around your house. Carve or paint pumpkins as their favorite movie characters and decorate the house with tons of friendly ghosts. 4. Scary

Caution! Drape your house in police tape, smear fake blood on the windows or doors and hang ghosts from the trees to create the ultimate haunted house. The best way to up your scare factor is to keep it dark, so limit outside lights and simply highlight all the monstrous decor.

Themed décor based on popular tv shows or movies is a great way to really get into the season. Go scary with American Horror Story, Stranger Things, or any classic Halloween thriller movie. You can also keep it low-key with Hocus Pocus, the Addams Family or one of the many Tim Burton movies. Whatever you choose, your decorations will be recognizable and inspire others to participate in the festive season.
